Julius Caesar, a full brother to champion New Zealand racehorse and sire Christian Cullen, has emerged as one of the stars of the Dominion’s siring ranks over the past few seasons.

Julius Caesar only raced four times as a two-year-old, finishing runner-up in the Group 2 NZ Sapling Stakes and Cardigan Bay Stakes before being retired due to injury. He took a record of 1:57.5.

An upstanding, young horse of 15.3 hands, Julius Caesar is proving a success in the siring field in both New and Australia.

To date he has been represented by 162 individual winners and they have amassed more than $6.8 million in stakes between them.

A number of Julius Caesar’s progeny have been sold to Australian interests where they have gone on to develop good form, winning at Group and Listed level.

Julius Caesar, who represents the famed male line of Volomite and coming from the prolific family of Pride Of Lincoln with strains of U Scott, Lumber Dream and Overtrick, all proved imports as sires and broodmare sires, has a second-to-none blood inheritance.
