Our Story

Mountain View Stud was established in 1987 by Don Murphy and his son Shane. Over the years the Murphy family have grown the stud from the foundation stallion Vanderport to multiple stallions each year, with this years’ roster being Angus Hall and Major Bronski.

Shane is a qualified Artificial Insemination Technician with 30 years’ experience in stud management. During this time Shane and his business partner Danny Murphy have gone from standing up to six stallions each year to now currently concentrating more as a semen base with access to all stallions from across Australasia.

Mountain View Stud is a family run business that provides owners with the full range of services, from breeding and foaling to breaking and training through the operations of brothers John and David Murphy. Mountain View Stud offers a complete range of services at very competitive rates.
